About Us

Founded in 1934 and registered as a Charity in 1973, Drama Association of Wales exists to create opportunities for people to become actively involved in theatre activities which are rewarding, fun and of a high standard.

Based in Cardiff, the Association boasts membership from across Wales, throughout the United Kingdom and internationally, many of whom have been valued members and journeyed with us throughout the years. Our members include amateur and professional theatre practitioners, playwrights, amateur drama groups, teachers, academics, schools, colleges and universities, anyone who has an interest in drama. 

We offer a wide and varied range of services to Drama in the Community. 

About Us

  • Training in many aspects of theatre, including annual Summer School
  • Festivals – DAW plays an active role as part of the United Kingdom Community Drama Festivals Federation (UKCDFF) with seven regional festivals held throughout Wales between March and May. More information is available here
  • Information and networking services to the whole range of participatory drama
  • DAWN – our Newsletter which keeps you up to date with News and events. Where member groups can advertise their up and coming productions.
  • Access to DAW Publications for purchase or hire. List available here

 

Join Us

Current membership to the Association is £15.00 per Individual, £25.00 per Group. Membership runs from 1st April – 31st March. Download membership form (WORD 397 KB)

Membership to DAW will give you a discount on Membership to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where you will be able to access the DAW Drama lending library which is now owned and managed by the College.

The library has been with Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama since May 2014.
